Endoscopy has become one of the most important tools of modern medicine, but without a single consolidated system to unify and optimise its capabilities, the true potential of endoscopy has yet to be realised. |
Olympus has created a single integrated endosurgery system that balances the needs of all users, providing state-of-the-art performance, streamlined operation, and optimal cost efficiency. |
The system is called EndoALPHA and it is truly the first of its kind. A complete endoscopic surgery suite that leverages Olympus’ expertise in areas such as imaging, ultrasound, electrosurgery, robotics, networking and more. Read about the benefits of Blue Light.EndoALPHA is a total environment for endoscopic surgery that can be configured to suit any technique or procedure, and offers a simplified, centralised control system that makes it easier to use and more efficient to operate. |
The basic concept of the EndoALPHA system is that all equipment, including the insufflator, electrosurgical unit, TV camera, and light source, can be controlled via a touch screen on the nurse’s control panel.
Frequently used functions are accessible from the main screen, and display layouts for all equipment are both simple and uniform. |
Complete on-screen instructions are provided, allowing anyone to quickly understand and operate the system.
For operation within the sterile area, a remote control with one-touch operation is provided. Buttons are illuminated so that their functions can easily be discerned even in a dimly lit operating room. For added convenience, the remote control can be attached to the operating table. |
| |
In addition, voice navigation is available for hands-free operation. True operating convenience is made possible by a sophisticated voice navigation system that enables the control of the equipment with voice commands alone. Voice registration is not required, so anyone can take advantage of this unique feature. |
| |
Operation of the system is also possible from the camera via buttons on the digital video system’s camera head. These camera heads are also autoclavable, ensuring greater reliability and cost-efficiency. |
| |
Images displayed on the two connected monitors and the universal display can be selected from up to six different sources, including a PC card. This allows simultaneous display of pre-operative examination images and intraoperative ultrasound images while observing live endoscopic images. The image size can be changed as required and can be switched at the touch of a button. Still images can be recorded on a SmartMedia card. |
EndoALPHA can be combined with the VISERA digital video system and SonoSurg ultrasonic dissection system. The result is a comprehensive endosurgical environment, able to meet the requirements of many medical specialties.
With EndoALPHA, there’s no need to construct a special facility or incorporate unwanted features. Its uniquely flexible design allows a configuration to be chosen that suits the needs of the operating environment, with a conventional workstation configuration or optional pendant configuration, allowing the addition of new components when required. |
