Endoscope Compatibility
Using incompatible devices damage endoscopes
Certain types of non-Olympus flexible accessories could damage or even perforate the biopsy channel of your Olympus endoscopes, resulting in costly repairs - so it makes good economic sense to use only authentic Olympus EndoTherapy devices with Olympus flexible endoscopes.
Olympus EndoTherapy
Using kinked, repaired or inappropriate accessories may save money now, but you could end up spending thousands of pounds on repairs in the future.
Olympus flexible forceps Why?  The channel size of your endoscope is measured in fractions of a millimetre - your accessories must therefore be exactly the right size to pass through safely.  For example, Olympus forceps have an extra-flexible section at the distal end, which is designed to match the scope’s maximum angulation.  Only the original scope manufacturer knows and understands this requirement.
Olympus accessories should pass smoothly through your scope, however, using kinked or buckled accessories will place serious strain on the internal components of your instrument - DO NOT, therefore, use kinked accessories through your scopes.
Colour Coding
Olympus EndoTherapy devices have colour-coded handles, matching the colour indicators on the channel openings of Olympus endoscopes.  This colour coding is a vital reference to the endoscope’s channel diameter, so by matching an accessory’s handle colour to that of the channel opening, the correct accessory can be quickly and easily identified, giving instant recognition of the correct scope/accessory combination. Accessories of the same colour code can differ in length, so always verify that the chosen model is long enough for the scope.
